An Option For Outdoor Heating

December 26, 2009 by Joe Walker

I am a single guy who does not need much room or materialistic articles. I am satisfied with as few things as possible. I enjoy sitting down and drinking a beer with a few friends. Outdoor heating is a concept I have looked into, because me and my friends love a good fire!

I have been looking at some catalogs and found some really neat fire pits. They are totally awesome! I love that they do not have to stay in one spot. You can move them around. They even come with tables where you can put your drinks when you have friends over. Also, they are small enough to fit on the deck of my small home.

A Chiminea looks similar to what my grandparents called a “fat-bellied” stove. It has a grate on the front and a long chimney. It stands on its own and is movable. They can be made of aluminum, clay and cast iron. They need good ventilation and can go any where on your patio or deck. But, be sure to place it on a fire proof surface. Especially if your patio or deck is made of wood.

I had been told I could put a fireplace on my patio but, it would not be movable. This was not a good decision for me. I want something I can cook in, if I choose, and it is quite difficult, if not impossible, to cook inside a patio fireplace. I simply like the versatility of the chiminea.

The staff, at the showroom, worked with me to have the fireplace matched to my home decor. I have a simple black, brown and white theme within my home, and was able to make, what I consider, a fantastic choice. Their information was helpful and very expansive. They knew exactly what they were talking about. I am thankful for all their help.

Now, I have to let you know that a fireplace, once installed, can not be moved. This is one of the disadvantages to a fireplace if you plan to move your fire chamber around. My fireplace now sits on my stone deck and is very beautiful. When ever I want to relax with friends, family or by myself, I simply head out to my deck.

These are wonderful to make those cool nights warmer. I love being outside. I do not mind getting out in the cold but, when I want to take a few minutes to warm my tootsies, I can with the chiminea. I feel this is one of the best investments I have made for my home. I love the way it looks, the way it cooks and the way it warms. I can not beat that!

I have found a lot of information about this outdoor heating device upon the Internet. There are many websites where you can see a picture of the product. With contact information you can find out more about what you are interested in. Take your time to browse and do not settle for the first thing you see. You will have difficulty just picking one. They are the works of artisans and I love them.

If you are tired of low quality outdoor fire pits found in big box stores and can’t handle the high price tags found in the boutique shops head over to toastyjoes.com. Joe offers fast, free shipping on all his outdoor fire pits and only carries high quality, low cost products.
